A very funny look at the wonderful authors who write the stories and their characters.
-- Michele - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 11:32:01 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
Snerk!! This is a wonderfully clever send up of fanfic, fanfic conventions (and oft-repeated errors), and Voyager melodrama. I love the not-surprising hero of the piece, and her eventual home. Funny stuff!
-- Djinn - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 21:52:44 -0500

5Celebrations The Prixin Logs by Cybermum and The VS 7.5 writing staff
What a wonderful way to start of season 2 of this project. Seeing Prixin - a holiday aluded to in the show - fully fleshed out and celebrated by the crew as a family, was absolutely lovely, and reading the crews' perspectives on it and hearing about the people they chose to remember, honor and celebrate was enlightening. Wonderful.
-- Dr. Jekyl - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 02:44:13 -0500

11Into the Night A below decks story by Christina
Another great installment of 7.5 - lowerdecks and Shakespeare galore! And they finally managed to escape that damn planet and the land of the bureaucrats. This series continues to capture my imagination in a way the show stopped doing a long time ago.
-- Dr. Jekyl - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 03:31:30 -0500

3Blooper Reel by Monkee and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
Grin inspiring and lovely. Somehow, I suspect that the real blooper reals aren't half as amusing.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:38:08 -0500

3Blooper Reel by Monkee and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
Far too funny for mere words, this had me rolling in the isles. The P/K scene in particular was simply priceless. However, to this day I'm not really sure which is more disturbing: that this sounds far too much like the antics the Voyager gang were alleged to have gotten up to on set, or that this story was written in the first place.
-- Dr. Jekyl - Tue, 25 Mar 2003 00:10:49 -0500

8In the Arms of Family by Janet Christina Cybermum Diane Julie Monkee Penny and Rocky
Another simply lovely story, the crew more or less coming in a full circle from where they started. I enjoyed every aspect of it, from Kira's continuing headaches with Mrs. Kim to the reunion of Kathryn and her mother, the Paris family and Icheb, Celes... Something for everyone. And being the EMH fan that I am, I loved seeing Haley again.Particularly touching, though, was the story of Ayala and his family - terribly bittersweet. I'll probably say this over and over, but if only this had been the tv show...
-- Dr. Jekyl - Tue, 25 Mar 2003 00:43:36 -0500

9In the Course of Justice by Penny Proctor
At the risk of sounding repetitive, another wonderful addition to the 7.5 series. It dealt quickly and well with most of the tricky legal issues surrounding Voyager's homecoming and history without getting bogged down in too much detail. The ending fit well, though I was slightly surprised at the ease of the resolution.I thought that the Doctor's situation in particular was done well - a name, family, rank and sentient status all in one hit, thank goodness, and Zimmerman's solution to the emitter problem was quite amusing, as was his determination to get Mark out of his hair as quickly as possible. Starfleet's solution to the Equinox problem was somewhat disturbing, though there was no real right way to handle it - buying silence. Chakotay volunteering to take the fall for his cell was perfect, even as Janeway was exonerated after a raking over the coals. I laughed out loud when B'Elanna informed the court that Janeway's worst decision ever was cutting her hair. A classic moment in another great episode.
-- Dr. Jekyl - Tue, 25 Mar 2003 01:10:12 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
Ah, the very clever and very witty Jemima strikes again. One of the things I love most about a Jemima parody is that she knows how to let it unfold so that she experty reveals the "joke" at just the right time. Timing is everything - and it's a rare and precious skill to have.
-- Christinecgb - Tue, 25 Mar 2003 02:20:16 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
I laughed almost non-stop as Jemima trotted out every single convention of badfic--stemming from the lack of beta energy of the title. Just as I was thinking that the only thing missing was the Amazing Mary Sue, there she was! So many great touches throughout, from B'Elanna threatening to decapitate anyone who called her "B'E" to yet another Harry's Dead to Chakotay's 'normal' blankness. No one should miss this story.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:34:43 -0500

6Earthrise by Penny Proctor
A lovely look at the moment of Voyager's return to Earth, with some unforgettable images.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:35:23 -0500

7Hero for the Times by Julie
This story packs quite a wallop, both as a serious story with a fascinating new alien species, as well as a laugh-a-minute humorfest.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:36:05 -0500

9In the Course of Justice by Penny Proctor
This story realistically handles many of the issues the Voyager crew undoubtedly would face upon finally returning home. Penny effortlessly interweaves the professional and the personal aspects confronting the characters.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:36:41 -0500

12Little Feat by Janet and Christina
Short and sweet, much like Miral Paris herself.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:37:19 -0500

13Olympian Efforts by Penny Proctor and Cybermum
A fast-paced action/adventure story that features some of the minor Voyager characters and gives them their own chance to shine. Nice parallels between the Olympics taking place on the ship and the endurance contest on the surface.
-- Rocky - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 04:37:53 -0500

6Earthrise by Penny Proctor
Sentimental? You bet. Did it bring tears to my eyes. Indeed. Enjoyed Chakotay's last question, the last line, the descriptions of earth, and the landing. I felt almost as if I were swooping over the Golden Gate with them all.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 13:13:03 -0500

9In the Course of Justice by Penny Proctor
Another of Penny's detailed, nuanced, careful depictions of Fleet legal procedure. I enjoy these stories mightily -- the Fleet brass, the politics, the reactions of "our" people are just what I would expect. The scenes with the Equinox vets are particularly effective. Plus, as a person who has spent time on Kelley's Island, I loved Chakotay's visit there.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 13:44:41 -0500

14Purple Prose of Cell Block 74 The Risian Ribald by Christina and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
The Risan Ribald! Hilarious. The pictures alone are great, let alone stories such as "Triangle of Passion" and "Stellar Chicanery." I don't know what traces of our current lives will remain in the 24th century, but I have no trouble believing that celebrity gossip rags will still be around. And how perfect that the readers are Nunt and Blont.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 13:51:04 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
This story was fun from the first: Janeway telling B'Elanna she needed "is" in a sentence only to be followed by Tuvok observing that the captain's own sentences lacked verbs. I loved the line about the engineer being in two places at once given all the times on Trek when the engineer is on the bridge. That wasn't the only wry observation on stock situations in Trek. I loved all the consequences of running low on that "beta energy." The bit with Harry Kim was hilarious and best of all was the appearance of a certain figure ubiquitous in fan fiction. The ending was perfection.

5Celebrations The Prixin Logs by Cybermum and The VS 7.5 writing staff
I'm with Naomi I love the Prixin traditions which as a imaginary holiday evokes the warm feelings and glow of many traditions of faiths like Chanukah and Christmas. But being a Delta Quadrant holiday on a largely Alpha Quadrant inhabited ship, it takes on special meaning in this story as the Virtual Season contingent makes clear--it is Voyager's own holiday. I loved how beautifully those Prixin traditions were used in the story to symbolize and evoke Voyager's journey and how they had become a family. I found the ceremony of recitation particularly imaginative and moving. I got chills. I like the addition of the original character Falon Col, which gives an interesting outside perspective. I loved all the different perspectives in this story, from minor characters like Naomi Wildman and Joe Carey to Janeway and Chakotay. I like how in general in this series, and in this story as well, we get to feel Voyager as a whole, that characters barely mentioned or with little more than a cameo like Tal Celes and Susan Nicoletti and the Equinox people get fleshed out. "Celebrations: The Prixin Logs" is a lovely story, quite an achievement I'd think in a collaborative endeavor.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:42:05 -0500

6Earthrise by Penny Proctor
It is particularly lovely to read this on the website, complete with a picture of Earthrise and a link to appropriate accompanying music. But the magic is not in the music but the words that conjure up the majesty and the awe of looking back on our beautiful world from the void of space.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:44:12 -0500

7Hero for the Times by Julie
Julie brings out well what I find the EMH's best quality as a character--he can be damn funny. I thought that the author really nailed the Doctor's voice right in the beginning in his log. I had to chuckle at his reference to Paris as his beta and the later reference to feedback. I like how this isn't just a reprise of "Author, Author" though the canonical portions are handled very well and nicely fleshed out. I liked the whole side bit about cleaning the carpets The aliens Voyager had to negotiate with and the problem they encountered with were interesting and original. And I LOVED how the Doctor's holonovel figured in resolving things--though not before some complications. Like the best of the virtual season stories, "Hero for the Times" ably blends a solid action-adventure plot, with interesting interactions among the characters and this one had plenty of humor as well.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:45:08 -0500

8In the Arms of Family by Janet Christina Cybermum Diane Julie Monkee Penny and Rocky
I liked that Voyager returned to where she started her journey: DS9. It was fun to see characters like Kira again. The reunions were heartwarming and, in the case of Mrs Kim's meeting with her Harry, had nice touches of humor. I particularly liked the EMH's meeting with Vic and the epilogue between Owen Paris and Janeway and the passage about how people are threatened by greatness (and the nod to Kirk and Picard).

9In the Course of Justice by Penny Proctor
I was reading this for the first time to write my awards comments, and I usually make notes as I read; but in this case I didn't. I just wanted to enjoy and savor every word I read. This tale, like all of Penny's is well-crafted with the kind of vivid narrative and pacing that pushes you along a longer tale feeling at the end that it is too short and went too fast. This is ground Penny has covered before in "Revisionist History" yet she manages to make it completely fresh and surprising. This is a somewhat harsh look at Starfleet and the Federation, one where the pursuit of justice has more than an admixture of politics as well as personal pettiness, but it is certainly a realistic picture given how institutions function. The legal aspects of tale are absolutely realistic and the title and opening quote take on more and more meaning as the tale unfolds. Part of why I love Penny's stories so much is the intelligence and insight with which she handles such themes. But the main reason I love Penny's stories is that she makes me love the captain and crew of Voyager and for me more than anyone brings them vividly to life. I particularly like the strength of character she gives to Chakotay independent of Janeway. "In the Course of Justice" is one of my favorite installments in the virtual season and one of my favorite stories written this year.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:47:54 -0500

10In the Trenches by VS 7.5 writing staff
Everything I like ab this series is in place: smooth, flowing narration, the spot-on voices and characterizations, solid plotting, and an intriguing mystery at the center. I especially liked here the confrontation between Chakotay and Tuvok about issues that had been left hanging between them--and the nice moment between them at the scene's end. What struck me most as I was reading was how much I just plain enjoyed hanging out with these characters, even more minor characters the VS staff have brought to life like Icheb, Marla Gilmore, Tale Celes and Michael Ayala.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:48:42 -0500

11Into the Night A below decks story by Christina
This was a nice look into the lower decks characters. I liked how the culture clash with the aliens was written. I liked the character of Laral the Vordai pilot. The review by the Vordai of the performance of "Twelfth Night" put on by the crew and their assessment of Shakespeare was funny.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:49:23 -0500

12Little Feat by Janet and Christina
This had some fun dialogue. The authors nicely conveyed the feeling you have of nostalgia in advance when you see an important period of your life draw to a close. Like graduation when you find you have to leave old haunts and friends forever. Loved the ending and how it tied into the title.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:50:09 -0500

13Olympian Efforts by Penny Proctor and Cybermum
I had enjoyed the little references in past stories in the virtual season leading up to the Voyager Olympics, so I certainly huddled up to my computer with anticipation The bits of the Voyager Olympics were very entertaining and the "other" main event on the planet was great. I often find myself underwhelmed by the a/b plot structure ubiquitous in post-TOS trek where you have a main plot and a minor subplot. But this time the plot and subplot really complimented each other. I loved seeing Chakotay take a lead in the action in other than a romantic sense. He often seems overshadowed by Janeway in a lot of fan fiction so I appreciated that. And I loved how he passed the test. I liked the snake character. Especially having heard that it is canon that Chakotay's spirit guide is a snake that seemed singularly appropriate.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:50:39 -0500

14Purple Prose of Cell Block 74 The Risian Ribald by Christina and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
It was amusing to read what tabloid journalism would have made of Voyager: canon and virtual season. I particularly liked the article about that "hot triangle," the "Talk of the Quadrant and the Risian Ribald's angle on Chakotay/Seven. Even the names of the various journalists were fun.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:51:57 -0500

15Reconstruction Blues by Rocky and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
I enjoyed catching up with everyone. I liked the portrayal of Tuvok in particular. I love this little moment when his wife T'Pel taps him on the back to remind him not to be so smug! I like the realistic way the repercussions of situations and actions are played out: The reaction to the Doctor among his Starfleet colleagues; Paris having to deal with Caldik Prime, Harry, now on the Enterprise taking an eager young ensign under his wing;-) and the fate of the Equinox five.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:52:33 -0500

16Rendezvous in Sector 21503 by Christina and Rocky
The story delivers plenty of action and intrigue just when you would think Voyager was safe. I had to love who and what was waiting for Janeway and company on the other side. In fact a nod was given by at least a mention to each of the previous Trek series. A nice touch;-)
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:53:23 -0500

17Retribution by Christina and Sara
I appreciated how sensitively this story dealt with some uncomfortable themes within a solid action-adventure plot.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:53:53 -0500

18Ripples in Time by Rocky and Janet
The authors had such a deft touch with things like the bridge scenes, which I find are rarely done well. It is great to see real honest to goodness science-fiction plots in fan fiction. I liked the aliens they created, the Caephidians. I've seen a lot of matriarchal societies in fan fiction (and pro sci-fi) and thought this one was a particularly interesting and well-thought out such society--not so much a role reversal since the females are rearing children and the males conducting war, but more a values reversal with the male functions given little status. Then the authors put in more than one kicker of a twist. The multiple ironies were delicious. The ending was absolutely perfect--poignant and chilling at once.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:54:27 -0500

19Sinners and Saints by Rocky
This was one of my favorite stories this year. From the first story I have read of hers, "Official Channels" Rocky has impressed me with the deft way she handles political themes. I don't mean by that the partisan or the ideological, which too often makes its tedious way into fan fiction, I mean the timeless and universal dynamic of power and relationships, both those between individuals and between and within societies. Rocky writes about the machinations and interrelationships of the Star Fleet brass so well I feel I'm there. But "Sinners and Saints" is also about those Voyager left behind, and this is at the heart of the story, how the families find both solace in each other and solidarity in fighting for justice for all the Voyager crew, whether Maquis or Equinox. All the characters and their interactions are finely and vividly drawn here, including original characters, whether it is Owen Paris and Necheyev among others in a meeting at Star Fleet Headquarters, or Anne Carey and Gilmore's sister meeting together to support each other and those traveling home on Voyager. I love how Rocky weaves together canon and develops what would be the touchy issues about Voyager. "Sinners and Saints" is an outstanding episode in the virtual season.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:55:09 -0500

20Truth and ConseQuences by Christina and Rocky
This is an interesting what-might-have-been. I think Q was well-utilized here, and I liked how Rocky spun the scenes of an alternate universe. The consequences Janeway sees have a logical inevitability to them. The story showed some powerful, wrenching scenes in that AU--bleaker than just about any I have read. Yet there were also glimpses of humor like the allusion to Porthos (and if Rocky would like to tell the full story behind _that_ someday I would eagerly read it). I liked the subtlety of Q's little gift at the end.
-- Rabble Rouser - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 12:56:07 -0500

4Boiled In Their Own Pudding by Rob Morris
I admit, I approached this story with trepidation. I think of Rob as the crossover guy and I'm not a crossover girl, but except for two mentions of the Stephenses which made me cringe, this was really a Voyager story with a TNG cameo. I was drawn in by the interaction between Tom, B'Elanna and Harry, and also intrigued by the running commentary on Christmas joy. Naomi was in rare form as the snarky kid with a heart of gold. The J/C interaction was refreshingly blunt, and Wesley's technobabble and character were also spot-on.
-- Jemima - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 21:42:31 -0500

7Hero for the Times by Julie
This is one of my favorite stories of the year. Julie does a great job with the EMH, but what really grabs me are her aliens - they are so very alien, and yet so very plausible. And her sly humor comes through. Captain and Tineel, indeed!
-- Penny Proctor - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 19:52:02 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
this is classic Jemima - witty and to the point. very nice.
-- Penny Proctor - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 19:53:01 -0500

18Ripples in Time by Rocky and Janet
Another very strong story, combining science with a definite twist. The collaboration is almost seamless.
-- Penny Proctor - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 19:58:23 -0500

2Beta Energy by Jemima
Bwahahaha! "Beta Energy" by Jemima is a real hoot and one of my favorite stories of this year. Trust Jemima to come up with a fic this original and this clever. It's truly a wonderful story and really fun (and funny) meta commentary too. I have too many favorites in this piece ot name them all, but some of the highlights include Tuvok telling the Captain she requires verbs, an out-of-character Tuvok offering love advice to the Captain and Tom proposing to "B'E". Andd oh yes, the losing of Ensign Kim yet again, that hilarious staff meeting with characters slipping in and out of character - there are so many great moments in here that it's hard to list them all including all of the implausibilities and the plot holes that happen when there is low beta energy. This story is so much fun and a pefect example of why one ought to find a beta 'high' in energy and avoid some of the common pitfalls that occur. I highly recommend this story as a "must-read."
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:30:14 -0500

8In the Arms of Family by Janet Christina Cybermum Diane Julie Monkee Penny and Rocky
This is one of the best Voyager stories that I've ever read and one of my favorites. Following the VVS 7.5 "canon", it shows us what Voyager's homecoming could look like, featuring all of the characters as well as many of the "lower decks" characters. And as always, this VVS 7.5 story has perfect charicterization.
-- BASICman - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:36:29 -0500

3Blooper Reel by Monkee and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
The scenes in this fic funnier than some of the actual bloopers filmed on Voyager. This story is a nice and creative way for the VS7.5 writers to show off their humorous side.
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:37:03 -0500

9In the Course of Justice by Penny Proctor
Another one of the VVS 7.5 "canon" stories, featuring perfect charicterization. The story itself is riveting and describes the trials (no pun intended) and tribulations facing Voyager's return. I really like the way the trials are described and they way the "dark side of Starfleet" is shown so nicley here.
-- BASICman - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:39:55 -0500

15Reconstruction Blues by Rocky and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
The final story in the VVS 7.5 arc (late VVS 7.5 season two - early season three) that shows Voyager's homecoming in their "canon" ("In the Arms of Family", "In The Course of Justice" and "Reconstruction Blues"). This piece provides an interesting look into what the Voyager crew's lives are like post Delta Quadrant. As with every VVS 7.5 story, beautifully written with spot on charicterizations and a true pleasure to read. I'm eagerly awaiting the follow-up, "Best Laid Plans".
-- BASICman - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:43:48 -0500

4Boiled In Their Own Pudding by Rob Morris
It's been a long time since I've read a story with Wesley Crusher in it and liked it. This is an interesting story about an attempt to get Voyager home and it featured a lot of good character moments in it. The opening is particularly fun as the Captain and her First Officer argue back and forth. I especially enjoyed the gentle banter between Harry, Tom and B'Elanna. Rob is also a master of one-liners and subtle humor and the scene where Samantha tells her daughter about rediscovering faith is priceless. Rob has a unique style of storytelling and all of his stories are highly original and unprecedented. "Boiled in Their Own Pudding" is no exception. Good job, Rob.

5Celebrations The Prixin Logs by Cybermum and The VS 7.5 writing staff
This is an amazing story from beginning to end. The scope and development of a Talaxian holiday just shows the depth of creativity and devotion the VS 7.5 staff has for their project. As always, the characterizations are done beautifully and the story is well-written.
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:06:28 -0500

6Earthrise by Penny Proctor
A lovely fic. Definitely one that induces a lump in the throat. Penny writes this so well, I can just imagine the crew standing on the Bridge realizing that after all this time, they are finally home.
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:09:25 -0500

7Hero for the Times by Julie
I enjoy all of Julie's stories because she gets the characters just right and she has such an eye for detail and description. This story is no exception. This is possibly one of the best Doctor-centric stories I've ever read. Great job, Julie!
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:12:40 -0500

8In the Arms of Family by Janet Christina Cybermum Diane Julie Monkee Penny and Rocky
This is a highly ambitious story and the VS7.5 didn't miss a beat. They covered all of their bases, giving everyone on the Voyager crew time and attention. There's a lot going on in this fic - from happy reunions to the set-up of tension. The complexity of this story is impressive. Well done.
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:20:44 -0500

20Truth and ConseQuences by Christina and Rocky
I really liked this Q story that shows what would happen if Voyager hadn't 'happened.' This story is pretty dark - there are no happy endings for the Voyager crew in the AQ. Even though Janeway and her crew made it home, there are some who didn't. The use of Michelle Ford as the 'trigger' for Janeway's guilt is well done. Yet another wonderful collaboration from Rocky and Christina.
-- Seema - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:25:50 -0500

12Little Feat by Janet and Christina
Cute! I really enjoyed this Miral story.

13Olympian Efforts by Penny Proctor and Cybermum
What amazes me most about the VS7.5 writers is how they have woven continuity throughout their stories. They've been dropping hints about Olympics from the very beginning and finally, that event comes to fruition here. But I love how Chakotay thinks he's getting out of it and taking an 'easy' away mission and instead ends up on the adventure of his life. This is one of my favorite stories from 7.5 this year.

14Purple Prose of Cell Block 74 The Risian Ribald by Christina and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
This was a lot of fun - the seamy side of Voyager. No doubt this is exactly how the National Enquirer would treat speculation about Voyager and its crew.

16Rendezvous in Sector 21503 by Christina and Rocky
Getting home for Voyager couldn't possibly go without a hitch and this story provides a satisfying adventure for the crew as they finally hit the home stretch. I really liked the Tom and Chakotay interaction in this story - they make good foils for each other. Plus, it was a long overdue conversation and I liked seeing them work together. Nice job.

18Ripples in Time by Rocky and Janet
This is an amazingly complex and intricate story that holds interest from first paragraph to the last. I'm really impressed with the depth and the amount of thought and creativity put into this piece. I love the idea of a female-dominant society and Janet and Rocky created a very intriguing one here and fleshed out its customs and rituals well. Plus, there's a mystery and a twist that shouldn't be missed. This is an excellent story.

19Sinners and Saints by Rocky
So often the focus is on Voyager and the crew's adventures in the DQ and it is nice to finally get a story that focuses on the homefront in the AQ. This is probably the best AQ story I've read this year. I love how we get the two perspectives - the admirals and their politicking and all of the issues they bring up regarding Voyager as well as the friends and families of the Voyager crew - Anne Carey in particular. Both sides are deftly handled and well-written. Bravo for another excellent story, Rocky.

4Boiled In Their Own Pudding by Rob Morris
I loved the fact that everyone was crabby initially - the various conversations are great, and reminded of some family gatherings where holiday stress got to be a little too much. The insertion of Wesley a nice touch.

11Into the Night A below decks story by Christina
Christina has such wonderful feel for the lower decks characters, and it shows here. She's also got a wonderful sense of humor, which comes through here.

12Little Feat by Janet and Christina
A sweet story about one of the little moments in life that really is a big moment.

16Rendezvous in Sector 21503 by Christina and Rocky
This taut story combines political intrigue, at which Christina excels, with old-fashioned action. And the collaboration is transparent - the tone and style remain consistent throughout. Very nicely done.

17Retribution by Christina and Sara
Another story of intrigue, with a helping of vengeance, new aliens and action. This was strong story.

18Ripples in Time by Rocky and Janet
This story can be enjoyed even by those unfamiliar with the 7.5 "fanon" - it's a solid Voyager adventure, featuring a carefully constructed and detailed alien society, strong characterization and a twist at the end. Once again, the collaboration is transparent and the result is a balanced, fascinating tale.

19Sinners and Saints by Rocky
In this AQ story, Rocky does a great job showing the internecine politics of Starfleet and the bonds that formed among the Voyager families. Very enjoyable.

20Truth and ConseQuences by Christina and Rocky
A look at what might have been, courtesy of Q. As one expects from Christina and Rocky, the characterizations are strong and the story line grabs attention and doesn't let go.

2Beta Energy by Jemima
An absolutely hilarious tribute to beta readers everywhere. The "Show-Don't-Tell Spaghetti" was absolutely inspired, but mostly, it was Jemima's subtle sense of humour that made this so brilliant.

2Beta Energy by Jemima
A fun, goofy story with lots of laughs as Mary Sue comes to the rescue again!

20Truth and ConseQuences by Christina and Rocky
Who better than Q to show a self-doubting Janeway what would have happened if Voyager hadn't been stranded in the Delta Quadrant? I enjoyed this one.

3Blooper Reel by Monkee and the VS 7.5 Writing staff
The single most funny story I've read all year, in any category/pairing. The staff really outdid themselves with this!

8In the Arms of Family by Janet Christina Cybermum Diane Julie Monkee Penny and Rocky
I checked "Do not count this comment" above because I can't officially vote for this story. After all, I was one of the major contributors, and I don't want it or me to be disqualified! Just to be sure, I delayed writing this comment until after 11 P.M. Eastern Time, so it doubly shouldn't count. So why am I writing at all? It's simple. I want everyone here to know how privileged I feel to be able to share writing duties with this wonderful group of writers. Christina is our guiding force. Her enthusiasm has carried us through many tough times. Cybermum, Julie, Penny, and Rocky have been mainstays. Countless times when I didn't have the time to finish something in a story because of some horrendous Real Life problem, they pitched in and helped me get through it. Monkee and Diane are wonderful writers who I value for all their writings, and I'm glad they joined in here, as well as with stories like monkee's "The Last Nacelle."I felt I couldn't in conscience vote for any of the Voyager Virtual Season 7.5 stories, even those I had no direct hand in writing (although there were several I wanted to vote for) because of my involvement with the series, but I wanted to say "thank you" to a generous and talented group of writers in this public forum in some way. Maybe it can't "count" in the official voting, but all of them really "count" with me.
