Summary: When all of the choices are wrong.
Author's Notes: This is the fifth in a loosely connected series
(sequel to Holding Hope), inspired by the Treksoap Jon and Mal (with
my deepest thanks to those who bring them to life).  But no back-story
is necessary to understand the pain two people can cause each other as
they try to deal with the aftermath of psychological trauma.  As usual
in this series, this is Jon, unsure how to deal with a betrayal of
trust.

My heart is hurting.
I love you-- that will never change.
That makes this harder-- this mutual betrayal.

Talk to me, love!
Make me understand the maelstrom in your mind that brought us here--
to this moment when you hurt me 
and all my choices will only hurt you more

You wear his face...my hands would know it in the dark.
Those are his eyes...I've seen myself reflected in them.
