HALL OF JUSTICE

When the summons came, James Kirk and Gary Mitchell felt like their stomachs
had imploded.  Cadets were never - *never* - summoned to Admiralty Hall,
Starfleet Academy's main administrative offices, unless things were bad.
Romulan invasion, warp core breach bad.

Standing before Academy Commandant Barber, who wore a thunderous scowl, Kirk
felt like even his boots were sweating.  "Would either of you care to explain
*this*?" she asked acidly, indicating the defaced painting on her desk.
Across Zephrem Cochrane's visage, someone had scrawled, in big red letters,
"KIRK AND MITCHELL - THE WARP BOYS!"

Gary only groaned.  Jim breathed one curse-like word.  "Finnegan!"
