ALWAYS WOULD BE

An angel who had to die to save millions once told me
that you looked like you had always been by my side,
and always would be.

Now you lie before me, still and lifeless in the
photon tube, victim of your own valued sacrifice. Like
her, your life paid for the lives of those around you
whom you treasured.

But she was right--you are still by my side, and there
forever will you remain. Your voice will speak
languageless words in my heart throughout my waking
moments, and the feel of your kiss will never leave my
lips.
