She loved all her children and she was proud of them. They were the best kids a mother could wish for. They cared for her, loved her, provided her with all she needed. But although she tried to love them all equally, she had to admit that she loved two of them more then the others. Her two favourite boys! And she knew that those two also felt more for her than the others did. It was so obvious. They understood her more, they cared for her more than the others and they often told her how much they loved her. The one the humans called Captain Kirk always led all her other children and ordered them to be good to her. Well, sometimes he was a little bit too adventurous and took too many risks. But she knew, he never would hurt her willingly. And so she always did her best to give him and the others the shelter they needed. She kept the cold reality of space outside, she gave them air and warmth and whatever else they needed. The other, called Scotty, was the one who kept her organs healthy. She had to admit that he was very talented at this - and was always so tender with her. Both the Captain and Scotty were obviously very happy with their lives but she noticed that something was missing, something very important for human beings in general. She'd lived long enough amongst them to realise that they needed company of someone of their own kind, close company, to be exact. She'd often observed the human beings engaged in something they called sex - sort of a physical act - union was maybe the better term - between two - sometimes more - of them. She had tried to detect a pattern in this. Why one was pairing up with one particular person and not with another. Finally she came to the conclusion that one of the reasons which drew one human to another was that they had the some interests. That was the moment an idea was born. The Captain and Scotty certainly shared an interest: Her. They hadn't taken any other partner. They'd been alone for far too long. She would do something about this. She just needed to do some more research about the details of human coupling rituals. /// "Captain, you asked me to bring this to you?" Scotty stepped into Kirk's cabin, a basket full of goodies like champagne, a delicious meal and candles in his arms. Surprised, Kirk stared at his chief-engineer. "No, I didn't," he said. "But I found the message on my computer-screen - and this basket in front of my door," Scotty explained. "Maybe it was just a joke from someone." He tried to retreat - and slammed against the door, because it didn't slide open. He and Kirk stared at each other for a moment again, then Kirk hit the button of the com-system. "Kirk to engineering!" Nothing happened. He tried sit again. "Kirk to bridge, Kirk to Spock." But nothing happened. Suddenly a well-known voice came out the system. "You can't reach them. You will remain undisturbed until next morning. Have fun!" Again they stared at each other. Then Scotty pulled a tube of lubricant out the basket.
