With every accelerating step he closed in, the picture sharpened; she'd grown a good deal, her brown hair longer now, her body more womanly. But it was Saavik, the girl that Spock had taken with him three years ago. Left for good. Kirk hadn't heard a single word from them, in all this time. He'd tightly held on the promise he had given, got back on route with his life and away from the alcohol, hoping Spock would keep his promise too - to return to him some undefined day. So to see Saavik here on the Academy campus was like a punch in his stomach and a blissful appearance all in one. When he was almost at her side, she stopped hard and turned to face him. 'Hello darling', he'd love to say and embrace her hard, but this was the campus and he was Admiral and she was a young cadet. Order must be kept - in the open. "Hello, Cadet Saavik," he said. "Can it be that we've already met in the past?" "Admiral..." - she visibly searched her memory for his family name - "Kirk. Yes, I think we have met." Tangible silence dropped over them as they remained staring, neither knowing how to proceed. Then a small smile flickered over her features, vanishing before it reached her eyes. "Perhaps we should have our conversation somewhere else," she said, Vulcanly reasonable. Kirk nodded. His mind raced, juggling possibilities. Not his office. Not a bar. Not - "A friend of mine has an apartment nearby." Her voice ended his thinking. "Block E33 Apartment 5. In ten minutes." He frowned. Did she still work as prostitute, making some extra money by riding fleet personnel? Taking in her looks, he'd say no. But he knew what a sensuous girl rested behind this façade, which was only built over the last few years. She waited motionlessly as he searched her face. Did he really want to know if she was still in business, and, if so, did he want to know for himself or for the reputation of the fleet? A tiny stab of jealousy gave him the answer. She'd been his for a while, longer than anyone else in the last years. And she'd been there not only because of the money but a little bit because of him, too. At least he thought so. She still waited, her back ramrod straight. Much more patient than in the past. He, in contrast, didn't quite know where to put his hands. He clamped them behind his back. "I'll be there." * They were all over each other within seconds after the door had closed. He'd almost ripped her trousers apart as he pushed her against the wall, fucking her like some brain-dead, starved dog. She'd followed all along. Obviously she'd been starved too, he thought as they finally made it into the bed for another round, this time without clothes. She withstood his pounding easily as he lay upon her, sweat pouring down his face. Her fingertips touched his temple, teasing the melding points. "Dammit...dammit," he murmured, as he went out of air but was still far away from his goal. He didn't get younger, obviously. Two in a row was something he'd never failed to deliver before. "Let me help," she said. In one quick movement she pulled him close and rolled them over. His neck tilted on the edge of the bed, and a brief nausea hit him. Then she clamped her nails in his nubs, and he forgot all about it. * Slowly, he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. The low light told him he'd been here much too long. With a cadet. With Spock's...whatever. He turned his head to his bed partner; he had to know. "Where's Spock?" She met his gaze. "In Gol again." "He's left you alone?" Kirk asked in disbelief. "No. Not really." Her gaze wandered to some undefined spot on the wall. "He spent some time with me. Taught me a lot of things. Until I was able to join the Academy." Something in her words rang wrong. Dead wrong. "Did you want to come here?" he asked. Her voice was suddenly sharp. "Did any of you ever ask if I wanted something?" She rolled away and stood up, her hair long and wild around her face; it made her look like the young girl again who'd walked out on him...at Spock's hand. He sat up in a rush. "What did he do to you?" "Nothing." She pulled the curls back, which left her shoulders overly naked. "Nothing at all. No matter what I offered. I was just as unwelcome and unwanted with him as I was with you. But I knew you'd take me where he didn't want to. Principles were never your strong side, Admiral." Her softness from only minutes ago dropped like a cloak with the mockingly spoken title. Her eyes were cold now, and her body like a white marble statue against the reddish walls. Suddenly, everything made sense. "It's his apartment," Kirk said slowly, fully taking in the unusual decoration for the first time since he'd stepped through the door. "You're living here." His eyes came to rest on a meditation pot. One he should've recognized anywhere. Just when had his memory become so leaky? "And you've brought me here to..." To be fucked by him. To fuck him right on this bed, in this place. To destroy what little bit of prospect he had of getting Spock back. "Shit," he said, anger rising in him. "You're one sick kid, Saavik. And I should've known all along." He grabbed his clothes and was halfway in his trousers when the door bell rang. Just in time he captured her hand on the opener before she could answer the call. Gazing through the viewer, he recognized the uniforms of the two men instantly - Police. He shook his head in disbelief. "You didn't want to pull that stunt on me, did you? Poor Academy student forced into sexual service by a lecherous Admiral?" "Is it a lie?" she replied harshly, and shook his hand off. "Saavik..." Kirk reached out for her, for a second feeling all fatherly. "Did he hurt you that much? God, I'm sorry, really. I know what loving him is like. Being alone all the time, no matter if he sits next to you or a universe apart." Some part of him knew that reasoning didn't help when faced with a confused, hurt, love-struck girl, but in a way Saavik was anything but this. In a sudden impulse he grabbed her and pulled her into a kiss, which she first accepted passively, then began to struggle against it. Closing his other hand around her head he clutched her tighter, fucking her mouth with his tongue. "I want you, Saavik. You. Not him," he pressed out between his intruding kisses, leaving her just enough time to catch some air. He shoved her back into the apartment and pinned her against the same wall they'd had sex at in the beginning of the afternoon. She clung in his embrace, her cool attitude visibly shaken. "We'll never get him back now." Kirk released his grip on her to open his zipper. She tried twisting away, but then his hands were already around her thighs, lifting and spreading her. "None of us," he added breathlessly. "And you know that." He pushed into her hard, drinking in her gasp. Next to them an artistic arrangement fell to the floor with a metallic clinking. "Saavik....oh, Saavik...why didn't you come back..." he murmured into her ear as he fucked her. "I would've been good to you. Really. I was so lonely, waiting and waiting ..." His words died as his brain went on adrenaline overload and his body on automatic. He didn't feel her fists hammering against his chest as he came; and only when he sagged against her, he heard the hammering sounds from outside. With a small whine she escaped his grip. Seconds later, his fog cleared in the eye of the handcuffs closing around his wrists. Some words shattered in his ears, the only one recognizable being 'rape'. "I didn't want that," he murmured. "I didn't want that. Saavik! Tell them!" "You can be sure she'll tell us everything," one of the officers said as he pulled him up and shoved him toward the door. "Later." * She didn't say a word about it, to anybody, and so the law suit was finally dropped. But Kirk knew that in the unofficial files, this accusation would stay forever. Nogura called him and gave him the re-design of the Enterprise as his new primary project; it was the official reason for him stepping back from Academy duties. He was probably judged as being too dangerous to be left alone with freshman classes, and he agreed. At least as long as Saavik was in them. Sometimes he caught a glimpse of her when she walked over the campus. Then he always took utmost care not to look in her direction. And Spock remained silent and afar. The one thing he was best at. ***** Messages from this list are mirrored on the ASCEM newsgroup.
